<p>Yes, there really was a Starbuck Dairy and some of the family still lives in the Salida area.  Some of the long time locals can recall visiting the dairy when it was located on this spot years ago.  One of the former dairy buildings is still in place at the entrance to the area.</p>

<p>One thing that makes this development special is that it encompasses so many different kinds of western terrain and wildlife habitat, and even types of views.  In one section of the subdivision, the road winds through a delightful mature cottonwood grove and riparian area.  Some places have healthy groups of ponderosa pine in their natural park-like stands and picture-framed views of the mountains.  Other areas are open meadows that are peppered with shorter piñon pine trees and offer 360 degree views.</p>
